Five Things to Know Before Canisius Plays Monmouth
1. Griffs Not So Friendly At Home

• The Canisius men's basketball team moved to 6-1 at home on the season with Friday's 70-58 win over Saint Peter's, the team fourth-straight home victory, dating back to Dec. 19. In those six wins this season, the Griffs have won their six home dates by an average margin of 11.5 points per game. Last season, Canisius went 7-7 at home, the fifth-straight season where the team was .500 or better in home contests.

2. That 70s Show
• Canisius improved to 8-2 on the season when scoring 70-or more points in a game this season after the Griffs defeated Saint Peter's 70-58 Friday night. Dating back to last year, Canisius is 26-10 in games when reach 70-plus on the scoreboard.

3. No Threes For You
• Canisius held Saint Peter's to a 26.1 percent effort from 3-point land in Friday's victory, the 10th straight game where the Griffs' opponent failed to shoot 37 percent or better from 3-point land. Canisius enters Sunday's game against Monmouth ranked second in the MAAC and 46th in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage defense, with opposing teams shooting just 34.1 percent from long-range against the Blue and Gold this season. Monmouth, which is shooting 39.2 percent from 3-point land as a team, leads the MAAC and ranks 37th in the country in the nation in 3-point field goal percentage.

4. Molson a Freshman in Name Only
• Canisius freshman guard Takal Molson scored a game-high 23 points in the win over Saint Peter's on Friday, his second-straight game with 20-plus points after he had a game-high 21 points in the road loss to Siena last Sunday. He is the first Canisius freshman to score 20-plus points in back-to-back MAAC games, and he comes into Sunday's game ranked third among all league rookies with his 12.3 points per game scoring average.

5. Mr. Friday Night
• Canisius freshman Scott Hitchon came off the bench on Friday and scored four points to go with an assist and a blocked shot in 16 minutes of action as Canisius defeated Saint Peter's 70-58. In the team's last two Friday games (at Quinnipiac and vs. Saint Peter's), Hitchon is averaging 6.0 points per game, highlighted by his career-high eight-point effort in the win at Quinnipiac Jan. 5. All three of his career assists have come in the team's last two Friday night games as well.
