Five Things to Know Before Canisius Plays St. Bonaventure
1. Griffs and Bonnies Renew Rivalry in Buffalo

• Canisius will close out its brief two-game homestand Wednesday night when the Golden Griffins play host to long-time rival St. Bonaventure in the Koessler Athletic Center. This will be the 166th edition of this rivalry series, which started in the 1919-20 season. Last season, Canisius defeated St. Bonaventure 106-101 in overtime, just the eighth overtime game in series history. The 207 total points scored last year set a new series record, and the five-point win for the Griffs stands as just the eighth time in series history where the game was decided by five-points or less.

2. Crumpton Now Top-25 in Career Scoring
• Canisius senior Jermaine Crumpton will enter Wednesday's game ranked 25th in school history in career scoring with 1,146 points.
The Niagara Falls, N.Y., native had a season-high 24 points in the win over Dartmouth, his 17th career game where he scored 20-or more points in a game. Crumpton is the only player on Canisius' active roster to have played multiple career games against St. Bonaventure. Last year, in the Griffs' overtime win, he was good for 14 points in a winning effort.

3. Hitting on a High Percentage
• Canisius will enter Wednesday's game ranked first in the MAAC and 40th in the nation in team field goal percentage, with the team connecting on 49.7 percent (216-for-435) of its shots from the field this year. In the win over Dartmouth Dec. 2, the Griffs shot 57.1 percent from the floor, the fifth time this year where the Blue and Gold has been better than 45 percent as a team. The Griffs have also been efficient inside the 3-point arc as well this season, as Canisius ranks sixth nationally in two-point field goal percentage at 61.1 percent.

4. Defending on Main Street
• The Griffs' 73-60 win over Dartmouth Dec. 2, marked the fourth time this season where Canisius held its opponents to 65 points or less. In 34 games last year, Canisius held its opposition under 65 points just three times. Opponents are shooting 43.7 percent from the floor against the Griffs this year, which ranks the Blue and Gold third in the MAAC in field goal percentage defense.

5. Dropping Dimes
• Canisius had 19 assists on 28 makes from the field in the win over Dartmouth Dec. 2. The Griffs currently rank second in the MAAC in assists per game average at 17.0 per contest, with three players (Malik Johnson, Isaiah Reese and Takal Molson) all dishing out 20-plus assists through eight games. As a team, Canisius ranks 22nd in the country in assists-to-field goal percentage, with 63 percent of the team's buckets coming off an assist.
