The Canisius College outdoor track team will compete in it's second outdoor race of the 2015 season this weekend as the team travels to Ithaca, N.Y. to compete in the Cornell Upstate Challenge on Saturday, April 18. The track meet is set to begin at 11:30 a.m.
Canisius enter's the weekend race after competing in the Bucknell University Bison Classic last weekend in Lewisburg, Pa. The Griffs were led by Amanda Paratore and Catherine Niederpruem who finished 14th and 19th in the women's 3000-meter run and red-shirt senior Chad Maloy who finished 10th overall in the 10000 Meter Run with a time of 30:23.40.
The Upstate Challenge will feature some tough competition for the Griffs, including Buffalo, Cornell and Battle of the Bridge rival Niagara.
So far this outdoor track season the Griffs have been led by freshman Jade Auchmoody who ranks 24th in the MAAC in the 1500 meter run with a time of 4:54.40, Jeffrey Antolos who ranks fourth in the 5000 Meter Run with a time of 14:44.38 and Carlin Sullivan ranks fourth on the women's side with a time of 17:58.10.
Chad Maloy ranks sixth in the conference with a time of 30:23.40 in the 10,000 meter run and Morgan Atkins ranks third on the women's side with a time of 40:33.11.
After this weekend, the Griffs will compete in the Cardinal Classic on April 25 in Rochester, N.Y. at 11:30 a.m.
