Canisius College forward Cory Conacher was named to the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award All-America First Team on Thursday.

The award, chosen by a nationwide vote of Division I head coaches, national media and fans, is given annually to the most outstanding senior student-athlete in NCAA Division I men's hockey. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence - community, classroom, character and competition.

Conacher won the fan voting for the award, garnering more than 26 percent among the 10 finalists. Jacques Lamoureux of Air Force was selected as the winner of the Lowe's Senior CLASS Award and was joined by Conacher, Carter Camper of Miami, Chay Genoway of North Dakota and Tanner House of Maine on the All-America First Team.

During his tenure at Canisius, Conacher enjoyed one of the most successful careers in the program's history. The senior set or matched 12 career, single-season and single-game records. A-two-time all-conference selection and the 2009-10 Atlantic Hockey Player of the Year, he owns the program's standards of 147 points, 62 goals and 12 game-winning tallies. Conacher also set the school's records with 53 points and 33 assists during his junior campaign, while breaking the goals mark with 23 in his senior season.

After finishing his career, Conacher signed a professional contract and has enjoyed a fast start in the AHL and ECHL. In seven professional games, Conacher has totaled nine points, six goals and three assists. The program's all-time leading scorer is currently playing with the Milwaukee Admirals of the AHL.
