Hockey Places 25 on AHA All-Academic Team; Eight Tabbed Student-Athletes of the Year

The Canisius hockey team had 25 members of its 2025-26 roster recognized for their work in the classroom as Atlantic Hockey America announced its All-Academic Team on Wednesday.

The AHA All-Academic Team honors those student-athletes who posted a GPA of 3.0 or higher in both semesters during the 2025-26 academic year.

In addition, eight student-athletes – graduate Nick Strom, seniors Josh Phillips and Kash Rassmussen, junior Joe Messina, sophomores Luke Marshall and Hunter Price and freshmen FJ Buteau and Kyan Haldenby – garnered additional accolades as they were eight of the 22 student-athletes that were recognized AHA Student-Athletes of the Year as they posted a 4.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale during the 2025-26 academic year.

Wednesday's announcement marked the sixth consecutive year that the Golden Griffins have had multiple AHA Student-Athlete of the Year honorees. The eight student-athletes also represented a program-record for the most AHA Student-Athletes of the Year honorees in a single season.
