Men's Basketball Helps "Knock-Out" Cancer

Members of the Canisius College men's basketball program recently spent time at the home of David and Jackie Grano in Amherst, N.Y., to take part in the third-annual “Knock-Out” Cancer event to benefit Roswell Park Cancer Institute.

The “Knock-Out” Cancer fundraiser has raised close to $15,000 over the last three years, and the men's basketball team was once again on hand to provide support and shoot some hoops.

“This is just another example of our guys being able to grow and mature while taking part in a great local event,” Canisius head coach Tom Parrotta said. “These type of opportunities are not lost on our student-athletes here at Canisius. They realize they are in a position to do good things and they genuinely embrace it.”

The “Knock-out” Cancer event was highlighted on Channel 2's Daybreak Show on June 22. To see the segment, click here.
