The Canisius College baseball team dropped the series finale at Manhattan on Sunday, losing 11-7 to the Jaspers at Van Cortlandt Park. Canisius is now 23-19 on the season and 8-7 in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference, as the Griffs lose a MAAC series for the first time in the last four weekends.

The Griffs jumped out to the early lead, scoring five runs in the top of the first as 10 batters came to the plate. Connor Burke led off with a walk and moved to third on a single from Willson. After an RBI groundout from Mailloux, Kevin Mahoney walked to put two runners on the corners. Joseph followed with a homer to left to make it 4-0. Silverman reached on a two-out single, stole second, moved to third on a wild pitch and scored on an RBI single from Brad Medici.

The Jaspers chipped away at the Canisius lead as they scored an unearned run in the bottom of the first and then scored in four consecutive innings, starting with a two-run third. An RBI single from Chad Salem and RBI double from Austin Sheffield made the score 5-3 after three innings.

Mailloux's RBI single in the fourth extended the Canisius lead to 6-3, but the Jaspers scored eight of the final nine runs in the game.

Manhattan took the lead with a four-run fifth, highlighted by a bases-clearing double from Ryan Masters. Ruben Perez added a two-run homer in the sixth to make it 11-6.

Canisius scored once in the seventh on an RBI double from Mailloux. The Griffs weren't able to get the big hit in the final two innings, leaving the bases loaded in each frame.

Junior Mike Goemans (5-3) took the loss, as he allowed eight runs, five earned, in 4.1 innings. Tom Costigan relieved Manhattan starter Matt Jordan after one inning and allowed two runs, one earned, in eight innings to pick up the win.
