“Bentley was better than us tonight,” said Canisius head coach Dave Smith. “They played a more intelligent game in this building and we didn't do enough things to win. It just wasn't our night.”
Freshmen Scott Moser and Adam Brace each tallied their first collegiate goals in the defeat. Junior Andrew Loewen recorded 31 saves.
The Falcons (5-4-1, 4-2-1 Atlantic Hockey) struck first, notching the opening goal of the game 6:33 into the contest. Bentley fired a shot toward the goal but Loewen was there to make the save. However, Jeff Gumaer cleaned up the rebound and knocked it in to give the Falcons a 1-0 advantage.
Bentley added two more goals in the second period with Dain Prewitt tallying both. The senior recorded a goal 5:31 into the period and added a power play score with 4:03 left in the frame. The Falcons added another power play goal 8:22 into the third period to seal the victory. Cloutier scored his third goal of the season to give Bentley a 4-0 lead.

Bentley converted 2-of-7 power-play opportunities, while the Griffs only converted on Brace's goal with no time left in 10 chances.
