The Canisius College volleyball team will look to keep its winning ways rolling this weekend in a tri-match at Kent State against the host Golden Flashes and Radford.
Canisius is led by sophomore Kim Hoffman and her team leading 52 kills. Fellow sophomore Christina Wildes is second on the team with 41 kills.
Freshman Leigh Launhardt tied a program record for service aces in a four-game match with seven aces in the Griffs' 3-1 win over Colgagte in the Koessler Athletic Center. The record was previously set by Sadie Charland against Niagara, Nov. 6, 1992.
Senior Kelly Sieber leads the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference with 105 digs in 2002. Junior setter Jackie Reed leds the Blue and Gold with 230 assists through the team's first seven matches.
The Griffs will play the Radford Highlanders in the first game of the tri-match at 11 a.m. Radford won the Big South Conference a year ago and took part in the NCAA Tournament. This year the Highlanders are off to a 3-5 start. Kent State finished 2001 with a 16-12 overall record. The Golden Flashes are 2-4 in 2002.
