Volleyball Signs Emily Helmers

Canisius volleyball head coach Tom Hanna announced the signing of middle blocker and right side Emily Helmers on Monday.

"Emily is a talented player who'll make an impact in our program with her size, athleticism, and solid ability across all the skills of our sport" said Hanna. "She's a great fit with our team chemistry and we're excited to add a talented player to our program who'll have a great career on Main Street academically and athletically".

A native of Hebron, Ky., Helmers was a three-year letterwinner at St. Henry High School where she was named All-A Most Valuable Player in 2023, All-District Most Valuable Player in 2024 and 2025 and was named to the 2025 Ninth Region All-Tournament Team.

Helmers played club volleyball with Northern Kentucky Youth Volleyball Club (NKYVC).

The signing of Helmers is the fourth signing by Hanna for this incoming season with previous additions of Hanna Rider, Kenslie Warmbrodt and Cali Tierney.
