Tickets for Canisius vs. St. Bonaventure Going Fast

Tickets for the Canisius College versus St. Bonaventure men's basketball game, scheduled for Dec. 19, in the Koessler Athletic Center, are moving at a brisk rate. All reserved tickets in the Golden Griffins' 2,176-seat facility have been sold and only a few hundred general admission tickets remain.

Fans interested in purchasing tickets for the contest are encouraged to call 716-888-2885 or log onto www.ticketmaster.com to purchase tickets on line. This will be the 151st meeting between Canisius and St. Bonaventure, but only the second in the Griffs on-campus home. The teams did not meet last year, ending a string of 55 consecutive seasons in which the two Upstate New York schools battled on the hardcourt.

The game against the Bonnies will cap a three-game homestand for Canisius. After a weeklong break for exams, the Blue and Gold will return to action when it hosts Buffalo Saturday Dec. 14 at 4 p.m. The Griffs own a 26-8 lead in the all-time series against the Bulls with one of the losses coming last year at Alumni Arena. Clement Smith picked up a loose ball an slammed it home with one second left to lift Buffalo to a 58-56 victory. It will be the Bulls' third visit to the KAC in the last 10 years.

Canisius will host its third annual Wendy's Kid's Day Dec. 17, in a noon tipoff against Morgan State. Over 1,200 elementary school aged children are expected to attend. Several area mascots, representing professional sports teams, area colleges and businesses, will play a game at halftime.

Canisius posted a 74-68 win at Morgan State last season in the first-ever meeting between the schools. Andrew Bush collected 20 points and eight rebounds, while Hodari Mallory tallied 14 points and seven boards.
