Biography

Notes: Expected to be one of the Griffs’ top scorers... Has patiently waited his turn for a starting role and will get the nod this season... Must improve defensively and step up rebounding for Canisius to be successful.

2000-01: Fourth on the team in scoring, averaging 10 points a game... Led the Griffs in field goal percentage (.562)... Played in all 31 games and started eight filling in for injured center Darren Fenn; averaged 11.8 points per game in those eight starts (Griffs went 5-3)... Posted a .640 free throw shooting percentage and averaged 3.2 rebounds per game... Third on the team with 14 blocked shots... Averaged 21.3 minutes a game... Netted a career-high 25 vs. St. Bonaventure... Shot 12-for-16 vs. the Bonnies and snagged eight boards... Matched a career high with nine rebounds against Bucknell and added seven points... Had 18 double-figure scoring efforts... Netted 13 points in the MAAC Tourney semifinal against Siena... Scored 12 points in the championship game vs. Iona... Tallied 15 points at Niagara (2/21)... Scored 14 points against Loyola-Chicago; dropped in 14 vs. St. Peter’s (1/3)... Scored 13 at Cornell and vs. Iona (2/8)... Named MAAC Player of the Week, Jan. 2.

1999-00: Averaged four points a game and played in 30 contests... Averaged 14.3 minutes a game... Blocked 16 shots... Recorded career-highs of 10 points at Rider and at Iona and nine rebounds at Indiana... Had two assists versus six opponents... Made first career start versus Loyola-Chicago... Led team in rebounding against Indiana... Had three blocks at Fairfield and three steals at Siena... Scored in all but four games... Dropped in a three-pointer against UAB... Shot 20-for-32 at the free-throw line.

1998-99: Saw action in 22 games... Was 12-for-15 from the free throw line... Netted six points at Xavier and four points in home win over Marist... Had two assists at Manhattan and two blocks against Fairfield.

Before Canisius: First-team Class D all-state as a senior at Archbishop Walsh... The ninth player in school history (enrollment under 100) to go Division I... Averaged 20 points, 13 rebounds and four blocks as a senior for coach Pat Clarke... Also the Expressway Conference MVP... Transferred from Smethport High School in June of 1995... The MVP at the Metro Index Camp after his junior season.

Personal: The son of Gary and Marian Bush... Physical education major... Three-year letter winner for the Griffs... Sat out the 1997-98 season as a redshirt, but averaged 4.5 points per game during Canisius’ summer trip to Italy... Has two sisters, Nichole (25) and Megan (17), and a brother Zach (24), a 6-foot-10 center, who started at Philadelphia Textile during the 1997-98 season. Born: August 2, 1979, in Bradford, Pa.
