2026-27 Non-Conference Schedule  | Buy/Renew Season Tickets
The 2026-27 Canisius women's basketball season will officially tip off Nov. 5 when the Golden Griffins travel to play at New Hampshire in the first game of the America East-Metro Conference Challenge, Canisius head women's basketball coach Tiffany Swoffard announced today.

In all, the Griffs are scheduled to play a program-record 12 non-league games. The Blue and Gold's 2026-27 home opener is set for Nov. 8, when the team hosts UMass Lowell in the second game of the America East-Metro Conference Challenge. The game between the Griffs and the River Hawks will be the first between the two schools in series history.

Season tickets for the combined home men's and women's basketball schedule are on sale now through the Canisius Ticket Office by CLICKING HERE. Fans can also purchase their season ticket plans, which cost $240 for reserved and $140 for general admission, by calling the ticket office during normal business hours at (716) 888-TIXX.

After the home opener on Nov. 8, Canisius will head on the road for five-straight road games, starting Nov. 13 when the team travels to play at Cornell. For the second-straight season, the Griffs will play at Syracuse (Nov. 15), the 15th all-time meeting between the two programs, dating back to the start of the series in 1979-80. The following weekend, Blue and Gold will play three-straight games in Pennsylvania, starting Nov. 21 at Pittsburgh. On Nov. 23, the Griffs will play at Duquesne before heading north to meet Mercyhurst in Erie, Pa., on Nov. 25. That game at Mercyhurst will mark the first time the Griffs have played the Lakers in Erie, Pa., since Dec. 14, 1985.

Canisius will close out the month of November at home on Nov. 29 when the team takes on long-time rival St. Bonaventure at the Koessler Athletic Center. On Dec. 2, Canisius will host cross-town rival Buffalo at the Koessler Athletic Center. This season marks the seventh time in program history that the Blue and Gold has played the Bonnies and the Bulls in back-to-back games.

The Griffs will close out non-league play with three road games through the month of December, starting Dec. 6 at Eastern Michigan in Ypsilanti, Mich. On Dec. 13, the Griffs will play at Ohio State before wrapping up the non-conference portion of the 2026-27 slate at Wright State. The game at Wright State will be the program's first road game against the Raiders since the 2007-08 campaign.

Game times and the full 2026-27 Metro Conference schedule will be released in the near future. As was the case in each of the previous two seasons, the Metro Conference schedule will feature an unbalanced 20-game schedule. The 2027 Metro Women's Basketball Championship tournament will be held March 4-8 at Jim Whelan Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City, N.J.
