Men's Soccer Welcomes Four Newcomers to 2026 Roster

Canisius men's soccer head coach Michael Tanke announced the addition of four newcomers to the roster for the 2026 season on Tuesday.

The group is made up of junior Adam Schantz (Austin, TX) and freshmen Alejandro Quispe (Lima, Peru), Brian Bautista (Chicago, IL), and Lorenzo "Coco" Tuch (Phoenix, AZ).

"We are excited to welcome this outstanding newcomer class to the Canisius Men's Soccer family. This group brings tremendous character, technical qualities, and a competitive mentality, and we're looking forward to watching them grow both on the field and in the classroom. They represent the future of our program, and we're confident they'll make a lasting impact on the culture and success of Canisius Men's Soccer. Up The Griffs."

Adam Schantz - Austin, TX - Newcastle Blue Star FC
"Adam is coming to us from Texas by way of two years in England. He's an experienced GK who we expect to make a smooth transition to the D1 level."

Alejandro Quispe - Lima, Peru - Universidad San Martín De Porres
"Alejandro is a Centerback from a well-respected club in Peru. We hope he can come in add quality depth for us in that position. With his game understanding and technique, he has a very high ceiling once he adapts to the athleticism of college soccer."

Brian Bautista - Chicago, IL - Chicago Magic
"Brian is a very technical player on the ball. He can play anywhere in midfield or as a forward/winger. He finds good spaces to receive the ball and he can score and create chances."

Lorenzo "Coco" Tuch - Phoenix, AZ - Barcelona Residency
Coco is a midfield machine. He covers so much ground and always wants the ball, even in tight spaces. He just started every game in the MLS NEXT playoffs, where his team lost in pens in the national semifinal."
