Men’s Soccer Announces 2026 Schedule

Canisius head men's soccer coach Michael Tanke announced the program's 2026 schedule on Wednesday, a 16-game slate that features nine home contests and seven road matches.

The Golden Griffins will open their fifth season under Tanke on the road at Le Moyne (Aug. 20) before returning home to host Robert Morris (Aug. 23) in their home opener. Canisius then starts the month of September with a home contest against Cleveland State (Sept. 2) before traveling to play at Mercyhurst (Sept. 5).

The Blue and Gold conclude non-conference play with back-to-back home matches against St. John Fisher (Sept. 12) and St. Bonaventure (Sept. 15), before opening Metro Conference action at Iona (Sept. 19). Canisius returns to the Demske Sports Complex later in the month to host Rider (Sept. 26) and Mount St. Mary's (Sept. 30).

October begins with a road contest at Quinnipiac (Oct. 3) before the Griffs return home to take on Marist (Oct. 10). The Blue and Gold then travel to defending conference tournament champion Siena (Oct. 14) before hosting Saint Peter's (Oct. 17). Canisius closes out its regular-season road schedule with trips to Fairfield (Oct. 25) and Merrimack (Oct. 31).

The Griffs wrap up the regular season on Nov. 4 when they welcome Battle of the Bridge rival Niagara to Buffalo.

The 2026 Metro Conference Men's Soccer Championship will feature a six-team, single-elimination format, beginning with first-round action on Nov. 8. The semifinals are slated for Nov. 12, with the championship match scheduled for Nov. 15.

The tournament champion will earn the conference's automatic berth to the 2026 NCAA Tournament.
