The Canisius rowing program continues its spring season at the New York State Collegiate Championships on Saturday. The first Canisius boat takes off at 9 a.m. on Fish Creek in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.

The Golden Griffins are taking to the water for the second consecutive week as they competed in the Knecht Cup last weekend that saw two Canisius boats place as high as fourth in their heats.

Canisius' fourth-place finishes came in the Varsity 8+ and Varsity 4+, clocking times of 7:11.77 and 8:44.03, respectively. The 2V8 shell notched a sixth-place finish with a time of 7:24.08 to help the Griffs sweep this week's MAAC Boats of the Week awards.

The Blue and Gold have participated in the New York State Collegiate Championship for three straight seasons dating back to 2024. Last year, the Varsity 4+ and 2V8+ boats won its petite final and the Varsity 8+ shell notched a first place finish in its grand final.
