Swimming and Diving Earn CSCAA Fall Scholar All-America Team Honors

The Canisius men's and women's swimming and diving teams were recognized for their effort in the classroom, as both programs were named to the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team for the 2025 fall semester.

To qualify for this recognition, teams had to earn a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 for the fall 2025 semester. A total of 709 teams from 414 institutions, accounting for 16,421 student-athletes across all levels of intercollegiate swimming, were recognized.

The Golden Griffins' women's squad posted a 3.68 GPA for the recently completed semester, while men's team garnered a 3.69 GPA. The announcement marks the 19th consecutive semester that head coach Scott Vanderzell's teams have been recognized for their work in the classroom.

Canisius was one of nine schools from the MAAC to be honored on the women's side, while the men's team is one of eight MAAC programs to be named to the honor roll list. The men's team GPA of 3.69 is tops among the MAAC schools that were honored, and ranks fifth-best nationally among the 111 NCAA Division I schools that received the award.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy and professional development.
