NEWS AND NOTES
The Canisius men's and women's swimming and diving teams will travel to SPIRE Academy in Geneva, Ohio, Feb. 11-14 to take part in the 2026 MAAC Men's and Women's Swimming and Diving Championships.
• This will mark the third-straight year that the MAAC has hosted its conference championships at SPIRE after hosting the previous 12 championship events in Buffalo.
• Last year, both the Canisius men's and women's team placed seventh in the championship field.
• Canisius sophomore Daphne Mead was the 2025 MAAC Co-Rookie of the Meet after she earned individual A finalist at the MAAC Championships in the 200 and 400 IM and 200 back. She also placed fourth in both the 200 IM and 200 back and earned a bronze medal in the 400 IM race.
• During the 2025-26 season, Mead was honored as the MAAC Female Swimmer of the Week on Oct. 22. She has earned the league's top weekly swimming award three times in her career.

• On Tuesday, the MAAC announced that 33 Canisius student-athletes were named to the 2025-26 MAAC All-Academic Team. Canisius' 19 all-academic honorees on the women's side are tied for the most in the conference, while the men's team's 14 honorees stand as second-most in the league.
