Cloutier, Consigli Tabbed Student-Athletes of the Month for April

Canisius softball senior Alyssa Cloutier and baseball senior Peyton Consigli have been recognized as the Canisius Student-Athletes of the Month for the month of April, presented by Milk For Life.

Cloutier has played in all 44 games for the Golden Griffins this season, making 42 starts in the outfield. She has posted a career-high .310 batting average in 116 plate appearances to go along with personal bests in hits (36), runs (28) walks (19) and stolen bases (21).

The Derwood, Md., product was named to the MAAC All-Academic Team in 2024. She has garnered Dean's List accolades in all four of her completed semesters at Canisius.

Consigli, meanwhile, has made 10 appearances and five starts on the mound for Canisius this season, posting a 5.75 ERA in 51.2 innings of work. A native of Fonthill, Ontario, he has recorded five-or-more strikeouts in seven of his 10 appearances, highlighted by a career-best 12 punchouts in 5.1 innings against Fairfield at the Demske Sports Complex back on March 29.

A criminal justice major, Consigli is a two-time MAAC All-Academic Team selection who has been named to the Dean's List in four of his seven completed semesters at Canisius.

The Canisius Athletic Department saw 18 of its 20 varsity programs post a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or higher during the 2024 fall semester, while the school's 405 active student-athletes combined to post a cumulative GPA of 3.47 for the term.

The department also posted a 97 percent Graduation Success Rate in the latest data released by the NCAA in November. Representing incoming student-athletes from 2014-15 through 2017-18, the report represented the fifth consecutive year that the University's athletic department has recorded a graduation success rate that was 97 percent or higher.
 
The data also showed that 15 of Canisius' 16 varsity programs posted a GSR score of 90 or higher while a total of 11 programs recorded perfect 100 percent graduation rates: men's cross country/track, golf, hockey, men's soccer, women's basketball, women's cross country/track, rowing, women's lacrosse, women's soccer, women's swimming and diving and volleyball.
