Fitzgerald and Adams Collect All-MAAC Postseason Awards

Canisius sophomore Maddie Fitzgerald and freshman Katie Adams were both recognized as the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference announced its 2025 women's lacrosse regular season award winners on Thursday. 

Fitzgerald earned All-MAAC Second Team honors after recording 41 goals in the 2025 campaign. The reigning MAAC Rookie of the Year added seven assists for 48 points while also collecting 24 ground balls and 16 caused turnovers. Fitzgerald netted a career-high six goals at Quinnipiac (April 16) before tying the feat three days later against Manhattan (April 19). The 12 goals in two games highlighted a four-game stretch that saw the Rochester, N.Y., native scored four-or-more goals in each contest.

Adams, meanwhile, was selected to the MAAC All-Rookie Team in recognition of her 23-goal season. She garnered MAAC Rookie of the Week accolades on March 17 after recording a career-high five goals against Central Michigan. A native of Mendon, N.Y., Adams tallied multi-goal games on six occasions to reach the 20-goal plateau in her first year on Main Street.

In addition to the two regular-season awards, the Blue and Gold also saw 16 student-athletes earn MAAC All-Academic Team honors. The entire list can be found below:
