Outdoor Track Races at Bison Outdoor Classic

The Canisius men's and women's outdoor track teams combined to record three top-10 finishes during its appearance this weekend in the Bison Outdoor Classic at the Christy Mathewson Memorial Stadium in Lewisburg, Pa.

The women's 5,000-meter final saw senior Taylor Heschke place fourth (17:50.33) and freshman Nadalie Latchaw claim ninth (17:57.63) to give the Griffs two top-10 finishes in the event.

Sophomore Payton Calkins claimed 15th place in the women's 3,000-meter final, crossing the finish line in 10:54.14.

Freshman Clara Sundberg took 18th place in the women's mile, turning in a time of 5:26.17.

Freshman Ryan Giglia took seventh in the men's mile for the Canisius men, posting a 4:21.81 finish. Senior Kevin Board also turned in a top-20 result in the men's mile, crossing the finish line in 4:25.64 to claim 16th while freshman ran a 4:30.09 race to place 23rd.

Freshman Fenway Breckels claimed 15th place in the men's 3,000-meter final, finishing in 8:50.01. Seniors Collin Rice (8:53.53) and Pat Garland (8:55.91) placed 20th and 21st, respectively, in the race.

Brickels also placed 23rd in the men's 1,500-meter final, crossing the finish line in 4:00.84.
