Women’s Basketball Signs Yasmine Djibril to 2024-25 Roster

Canisius head women's basketball coach Tiffany Swoffard announced today (July 22) that Yasmine Djibril has signed to join the Golden Griffin roster for the upcoming 2024-25 season.

Djibril, a 6-foot-1 forward, is a native of Montreal, Quebec. She will have four years of eligibility, starting in 2024-25. She plans on majoring in finance and economics at the University.

"We are thrilled to wrap up our 2024 signing class with Yasmine Djibril," Swoffard said. "She will be a formidable presence in the paint, she has an incredible knack for the ball and will affect the game both offensively and defensively. Additionally, she is an excellent student and will represent us well on campus and in the Buffalo community."

Djibril led Montmorency College with her 11.2 points and 7.7 rebounds per game in 2023-24, where she started 16 of the 17 games she appeared in. She shot a team-best 47.1 percent from the field and also led the squad with 19 blocked shots. Djibril scored in double-figures eight times in her senior year, highlighted by her season-high 18-point effort against Trois-Rivieres in the season finale.

In her three seasons at Montmorency, she was good for 11.6 points and 6.8 rebounds per contest in 44 games played.

Djibril is the 10th player added to the 2024-25 Canisius roster by Swoffard and her staff since April 17.
