Volleyball Inks Van Kooten Ahead of 2024 Campaign

Head volleyball coach Tom Hanna announced the signing of incoming freshman Olivia Van Kooten ahead of the 2024 season.

"We're excited to have Olivia join our program," Hanna said. "We've added another quality person, student, and athlete that'll help us in our efforts to be the top side out team in the MAAC. Olivia fits well with everything that we're doing in our program and there's I no doubt that she'll will continue to grow on and off the court during her time at Canisius."

This past year with Glenbrook South, Van Kooten was named Central Suburban League First Team All-Conference and led the league in service aces with 49. She also was tabbed special mention all-state by Illinois Prep Volleyball and played for Mission during her club career.

Van Kooten is the third Golden Griffin on the roster for next season who comes from Illinois, joining Ella Bourque (Yorkville) and Bella Mosquera (West Chicago).
