Volleyball Clinches 18th MAAC Championship Berth

The Canisius volleyball team has clinched its 18th Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) Championship berth in program history.

Canisius notched their 10th conference win of the season with a four-set victory over Iona on Sunday at the Koessler Athletic Center. The Golden Griffins' win, coupled with a Merrimack loss to Sacred Heart clinched the postseason appearance for the Blue and Gold.

Since joining the MAAC in 1989, Canisius has two final appearances in 2018 and 2020. The Griffs last saw post postseason action in the 2022 MAAC Championship, where they fell to Siena in the quarterfinal round.

The 2024 MAAC Volleyball Championship is an eight-team single-elimination tournament that will take place at the UHY Center in Loudonville, N.Y. Nov. 21-24. Tickets are required for entry and can be purchased here.

The Blue and Gold round out the season with a four match road trip starting at Fairfield on Saturday afternoon. The match is slated for a 1 p.m. start and will be streamed on ESPN+.
