Rowing Victorious at Yinzer Cup

The Canisius rowing team continued its fall season in the Yinzer Cup as it raced against George Mason and host Robert Morris Saturday morning at McPhail Boathouse in Pittsburgh, Pa.

The Golden Griffins started off the day in the 2V8 boat where the A boat notched a first-place finish of 17:21.5, followed by the B boat in second place with a time of 18:12.6.

In the V8 race, Canisius also emerged victorious as well with a 16:11.7 first place finish.

"We had a strong performance across all three boats with each crew creating good rhythm for the 4,440m race," Canisius first year head coach Matt Cosmann said.

The Golden Griffins return to action next weekend in their final race of the fall season as they compete in the 54^th annual Head of the Schuylkill in Philadelphia, Pa.
