Jillian Hanna Tabbed MAAC Libero of the Week

Senior Jillian Hanna was named the Jersey Mike's MAAC Volleyball Libero of the Week, the league office announced Tuesday. This marks the second time in three weeks where Hanna has earned the league's weekly award for liberos, and she is one of two players in the MAAC this season to earn the award on multiple occasions.

Hanna led the Golden Griffins with 58 digs over 10 sets across two matches last weekend. Hanna was credited a career-high 28 digs in Canisius' come-from-behind five-set victory over Sacred Heart on Saturday. The Kent, Ohio native set a new career high less than a day later after she recorded 30 digs in a five-set loss to league-leading Fairfield.

Hanna, who leads the MAAC with 34 service aces this season, had three aces in the match against Fairfield on Sunday, and she was also credited with a total of five assists over the team's two outings last weekend. Through the Griffs' first seven MAAC matches to date, Hanna leads the conference with her 5.03 digs per set in conference play.

Canisius (8-10, 4-3 MAAC) returns to action Saturday with a road match at Iona. First serve between the Griffs and Gaels is set for 1 p.m. at the Hynes Athletic Center in New Rochelle, N.Y.
