Baseball Has MAAC-Best 22 Players Earn All-Academic Team Honors

22 members of the Canisius baseball team were recognized for their efforts in the classroom as the 2023 MAAC Baseball All-Academic Teams were announced on Tuesday.

To be eligible for the MAAC All-Academic Team, a student-athlete must complete two semesters at their institution and hold a cumulative grade point average of 3.20 or higher on a 4.0 scale. Freshman and first-year transfers are not eligible for the award.

Sophomores Joe Abramson, Peyton Consigli, Aaron Duffy, Tyler Hoover, Jackson Strongand Alex Terry-Emanuel, redshirt sophomores JT Ennen, Justin Guiliano, Ethan Hennessyand Josh Niles, juniors Levi Abbott, Bryan Aduddle, Carlin Dick, Max Grant and Ty Wevers, seniors Brennan Chisholm, Mike DeStefano, Chris Pouliot and Rockne Seidel and graduates Brett Kochanski, Kyle Kush and Dylan Vincent were all honored by the conference.

Kush received the honor for the fourth time in his career while DeStefano was named to the All-Academic Team for the third time. Abbott, Chisholm, Dick, Ennen, Guiliano, Hennessy and Niles were all named to the team for the second time in their respective careers.

Canisius, the No. 3 seed at the 2023 MAAC Baseball Championships, will play sixth-seeded Manhattan on Wednesday at Clover Stadium in Pomona, N.Y. First pitch between the Golden Griffins and Jaspers is slated for 11 a.m. Game action will be broadcast on ESPN+.
