Swimming and Diving Drops Regular Season Finale Versus Niagara on Senior Day

Graduate student Adriana Bolender took first place in both diving events as Canisius men's and women's swimming and diving teams concluded the 2022-23 regular season against Battle of the Bridge rival Niagara Saturday afternoon in collegiate swimming and diving action at the Burt Flickinger Center in downtown Buffalo.

The Purple Eagles defeated the Golden Griffins on both sides in the meet, taking a 201-93 win for the men and a 219-79 victory for the women.

Sophomore Archie Minto earned a first-place finish in the 200 fly, swimming a time of 1:50.57. Minto also grabbed second in the 100 fly (48.84) and 100 free (46.56) events.

Freshman diver Samuel Nykamp finished in second place in both diving events in the meet, earning scores of 251.78 and 277.13 in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, respectively.

Bolender paced the women's team, garnering the top score in both dives. The graduate student earned scores of 255.98 and 248.40 in the 1-meter and 3-meter dives, respectively.

Freshman Lana Janson was the first to touch the wall in the 100 IM, swimming a time of 59.71. Janson also finished second in the 200 free (1:53.98).
