Long and Bourque Tabbed for MAAC Weekly Awards

Senior libero Bree Long and freshman setter Ella Bourque were both recognized by MAAC in The Molten Volleyball weekly awards.

Long was tabbed libero of the week for the first time this season while Bourque was named rookie of the week for the third consecutive week.

Bourque had another impressive week totaling 96 assists to bring her season total to 311. The Yorkville, Ill., native ranks among the top-ten freshmen in the nation for total assists while also leading the MAAC in assists-per-set with an average of 8.95.

Long made history in the first set against Youngstown State, totaling her 1,500-career dig, becoming only the fourth player in program history to do so. The Temperance, Mich. native posted 64 total digs over the weekend while posting an average of 5.82 digs per set. She is tied with Bella Brady of Davison for 48^thin the nation for total digs.

The Golden Griffins are back in action this Saturday at noon against defending MAAC Champion Fairfield in both sides first conference match of the season.
