The Canisius men's and women's swimming and diving teams were recognized for their efforts in the classroom Monday as both were named a College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Scholar All-America Team.

Selected on the basis of the Spring 2022 grade point averages, the Golden Griffins' men's squad earned a 3.48 GPA while the women's team obtained a 3.37 GPA for the spring semester.

Canisius was one of six schools in the MAAC to earn the honor on the men's side and one of eight schools to be recognized on the women's side.

Founded in 1922, the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA), is the nation's first organization of college coaches. The mission of the CSCAA is to advance the sport of swimming and diving with coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy and professional development.
