FIVE THINGS TO KNOW

1. Opening Tip
The Canisius women's basketball team returns home Thursday, hosting Monmouth at 7 p.m. from the Koessler Athletic Center on Mental Health Awareness Night, presented by Independent Health.

2. Last Time Out
Mikala Morris scored a game-high 24 points and added 10 rebounds to record her third consecutive double-double, aiding Quinnipiac in a 76-55 victory over Canisius on Monday afternoon from the People's United Center in Hamden, Conn.

Mackenzie DeWees chipped in 19 points and seven rebounds for the Bobcats, while Sajada Bonner and Amani Free added nine points each.

Junior Shaunae Brown scored 10 of her team-high 14 points in the second half for Canisius. Sophomore Dani Haskell recorded 10 of her 12 points in the final half while also logging a team-best six rebounds.

3. Good 'Ol Home Cooking
Sophomore Dani Haskell has scored 180 points in 11 home games this season (16.4 points per game). She has recorded a double-digit point total in all 11 games this season.

Haskell's average is the highest by a Griff since Marie Warner logged 16.6 points per game in her lone year on Main Street after transferring from Utah (2008-09).

Haskell is the fourth player (fifth occurrence) in the last 20 seasons to average at least 16 points per home game in a season.

The Franklinville, N.Y., native joins Warner, Jenél Stevens (18.7 PPG in 2002-03 and 18.4 PPG in 2003-04) and D'Jhai Patterson-Ricks (16.1 PPG in 2019-20) on the list.

4. Record Book Watch
Thanks to her stellar free throw shooting, sophomore Dani Haskell has her name tentatively etched in the Canisius record book.

Haskell's .847 free-throw percentage (61-of-72) this season ranks seventh all-time (minimum 45 makes). Her .865 career percentage from the charity stripe is second in program history, trailing Jen Morabito (.873 - 124-of-142).

Freshman Rhay Porter has 31 blocks this season, nearing the top-10 in a season. Porter ranks 15th in program history and is four away from tying the 10th-most in a single season.

5. Block Party!
Rhay Porter (1.5 BPG) and graduate student Ella Väätänen (1.0 BPG) are two of 20 Canisius players in program history to record at least one block per game.

They are the third pair of teammates to have at least one block per game in the same season since blocks became an official stat in the 1981-82 season.

Porter and Väätänen join Mary Achramovitch (3.6 BPG) and Kara Haun (1.1 BPG) in 1982-83 and Ashley Wilkes (1.2 BPG) and Jen Lennox (1.1 BPG) in 2012-13.
