FIVE THINGS TO KNOW
1. Canisius Returns to the Road Saturday Night

The Canisius men's basketball team will open a two-game MAAC road trip on Saturday night when the Golden Griffins travel to play Marist in Poughkeepsie, N.Y. Game time at McCann Arena is set for 7 p.m., and the game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.

2. Series History vs. Marist
Saturday's game will be the 55th in series history - a series the Griffs lead 34-20. Last year, these two schools played a pair of MAAC games at the Koessler Athletic Center, and each team scored a victory. The Red Foxes' 56-52 win over the Griffs on Dec. 12, 2020 ended Canisius' three-game win streak in the series. The Blue and Gold have taken seven of the last 10 contests, overall.

3. Hitting the Free Ones
Canisius shot 80.8 percent (21-for-26) from the free-throw line in its win over Manhattan Feb. 6. That marked the first time the Griffs were 80 percent or better from the stripe in a game since Jan. 11 against Quinnipiac. Prior to last Sunday's strong effort from the charity stripe, Canisius was a combined 25-for-51 (49.0 percent) in the three previous contests.

4. Harried's Hot Run
Junior Armon Harried extended his streak of scoring in double-figures to five-straight games after he scored 17 points last Sunday in the home win over Manhattan. In the team's last five games, he is averaging a team-high 15.2 points per game. Overall, Harried leads the Griffs with his 12.3 points per game scoring average, which ranks 14th in the MAAC.

5. X Marks the Award
Freshman Xzavier Long was honored as the Hercules Tires/MAAC Rookie of the Week on Monday after he averaged 10.0 points and 6.3 rebounds per game in three MAAC contests from Feb. 1-6. In the win over Manhattan last Sunday, the Washington, D.C., native posted 16 points, his best scoring effort in a MAAC game to date.
