1) Puck Drop
The Canisius hockey team squares off against Battle of the Bridge rival Niagara this weekend in a home-and-home Atlantic Hockey Association series. The front half of the two-game set will be played Friday at LECOM Harborcenter before the series shifts to Dwyer Arena in Lewiston the following evening. Puck drop for both contests is slated for 7 p.m.

2) Battle of the Bridge
In a rivalry that began in 1997, Canisius enters the home-and-home series against its longtime foe holding a slim 29-28-6 edge in the all-time series and a 28-24-6 advantage in Division I meetings.
The Griffs have enjoyed success against the Purple Eagles at LECOM Harborcenter, posting an 11-5-2 overall record since moving into the facility in 2014-15. Canisius won the home half of the first home-and-home series between the two programs this season at home, opening the December series with a 4-0 victory at Harborcenter back on Dec. 9.
The Griffs hold an 11-10-2 all-time record versus the Purple Eagles at Dwyer Arena. Canisius was defeated in their last visit to the facility, suffering a 3-2 overtime setback in the back half of their home-and-home series in December.

3) Barczewski Making his way up Program's Career Saves List
Junior goaltender Jacob Barczewski has already made his mark on the Canisius record books as he sits in ninth place in program history for career saves with 1,615. One of just 11 goaltenders in program history with 1,500 or more saves to their credit, Barczewski enters the weekend just 78 stops away from matching Scott Diebold (1986-89) for eighth place on the all-time list with 1,689 career stops.

4) Lapid Piling up Points
Senior forward Lee Lapid has been racking up points lately as he has found his way onto the scoresheet in each of the last five games (3g, 2a), matching his career best stretch for consecutive games with a point. The Thornhill, Ontario native heads into the series with the Purple Eagles in second place on the team's scoring chart with 21 points (9g, 12a), having registered a point in 17 of the 25 games he has played in this season.

5) Leading After Two Periods a Good Sign for Canisius
The Griffs are nearly undefeated during fifth-year head coach Trevor Large's tenure when leading after 40 minutes, posting a 46-5-1 record in such games during that timeframe. Canisius is 8-1-0 when in front after 40 minutes this season, with the only loss coming in a 3-2 setback at Niagara on Dec. 10.
