Swimming and Diving Drops First Road Meet Against Geneseo

Freshman Lana Janson and sophomore Archie Minto combined for five first-place finishes on Saturday, but it was not enough as Canisius fell to Geneseo Saturday afternoon in collegiate swimming and diving action.

The Knights defeated the Golden Griffins on both sides, picking up a 157-143 win for the men and a 170.5-127.5 victory for the women's squad.


Graduate student
Adriana Bolender earned the best score in both diving events, picking up the top spot in the 1-meter (222.60) and 3-meter (224.10) dives.

Janson was the first to touch the wall in the 200 breaststroke (2:23.25) and 200 IM (2:00.34).


Junior
Jordan O'Connor also earned a pair of victories, picking up wins in the 100 and 200 back events, with times of 59.94 and 2:12.18, respectively.

Minto led the men's team, touching the wall first in the 100 fly (50.89), 200 fly (1:52.52) and 200 IM (1:56.60) events.


First year
Joe Cooper earned two victories in the 500 free and 1000 free with times of 4:50.53 and 10:10.44, respectively.

• Canisius will return to the pool for the Magnus Invite Nov. 17-19 in Cleveland, Ohio. This will be the first of two meetings against Cleveland State this season.
