Janson Breaks Program Record Saturday in Swimming and Diving

Freshman Lana Janson broke the program record in the 100 breast event for Canisius Saturday afternoon in collegiate swimming and diving action against Binghamton.

The Bearcats defeated the Golden Griffins on both sides, picking up a 169-125 win for the men and a 156-141 victory for the women's squad.

Graduate student
Adriana Bolender once again picked up the top spot in the 1-meter dive with a score of 229.65. Bolender also earned a first-place finish in the 3-meter dive (233.33). Both scores were career-highs for the fifth year.

In swimming, the women were backed by Janson. In addition to etching her name in program history in the second meet of the campaign in the 100 breast (1:05.15), the Capetown, Africa, native was the first to touch the wall in the 200 breast (2:23.52) and the 200 IM (2:08.54).

Janson broke Marissa Watroba's 1:05.34, which was established in the 2016-17 season.

Sophomore
Archie Minto paced the men's team, grabbing three-first place finishes for the second straight meet. Minto was the first to touch the wall in the 100 fly (49.66), 200 fly (1:50.28) and 200 IM (1:54.80) events.

Fifth year
