Swimming and Diving Reveals 2021-22 Schedule

Three home events highlight the 2021-22 Canisius men's and women's swimming and diving schedule, head coach Scott Vanderzell announced on Wednesday.

For the seventh year in a row, Canisius will host all swimming and diving events at the Burt Flickinger Center Pool in downtown Buffalo. The Flickinger Center will also host the 2022 MAAC Swimming Championships, scheduled for mid-February.

The Golden Griffins open their season on the road with a two-day meet at Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference rival Marist Oct. 15-16. A tri-meet at the University of Rochester that also includes league rival Siena follows on Oct. 23 before Canisius opens home portion of its schedule Oct. 30 with a visit from regional rival Geneseo.

A matchup with Binghamton on Nov. 6 and a home meet with Little Three foe St. Bonaventure on Nov. 13 bring the first half of the regular-season schedule to a close.

The Griffs ring in the new year with a visit from John Carroll on Jan. 15 before closing out the regular season with a trip to "Battle of the Bridge" foe Niagara on Jan. 22.

For the 11th time in the last 12 years, Canisius and Niagara will co-host the MAAC Swimming and Diving Championships at Flickinger Center Pool from Feb. 9-12.

The women's team placed second in the 2021 MAAC Swimming and Diving Spring Invitational, which was held remotely in lieu of a traditional championship meet due to the pandemic. The men claimed fifth.
