Indoor Track Set to Begin 2019 at RIT Tiger Invite

The Canisius track program opens its 2019 season at the RIT Tiger Invite this Saturday in Rochester, N.Y. at 1 p.m. This will be the first time the Golden Griffins have competed in the RIT Invitational since 2017, as last year's event was cancelled due to weather.

The Blue and Gold were selected to finish sixth on the men's side and eighth on the women's in the 2018-19 MAAC Indoor Preseason Coaches' Poll, the same positions each program placed at last year's championships.

Canisius is coming off a successful cross country season, with both senior Siobhan Quinn and junior Nick Neamtu earning All-MAAC honors for their performances at the MAAC Championships. Quinn also earned All-Region honors for placing 19th at the NCAA Northeast Regional.

The 2019 MAAC Indoor Championships will take place Feb. 16-17, at the New Balance Armory in New York, N.Y. Canisius' schedule will continue with its first Division I meet of the season at Cornell on Jan. 19.
