LAST TIME OUT
• The Canisius women's basketball team came up short against Marist on Sunday, falling to the Red Foxes, 58-47 in Poughkeepsie, N.Y..Â
• The Blue and Gold kept things close in the firs half, as Sara Hinriksdottir launched a buzzer-beater trey, well beyond the arc as the buzzer hit zero in the second quarter, to close the gap to just two, 22-20, Marist.
• However at the start the second half the Red Foxes opened up on a 5-0 run, forcing a Canisius time out and• Marist never looked back, outscoring the Griffs 22-15 through the quarter, en route to its 58-47 victory.
• Freshman Danielle Sanderlin had her strongest game to date, recording her first career double-double, scoring a season-high 18 points and 10 rebounds. Hinriksdottir also reached double-figures scoring 13 in the contest, going 5-of-18 from the field including three 3-pointers.
• The Marist offense scored by committee, as four different players hit 10-or-more points. Rebekah Hand tallied 15 points in the victory, while Maura Fitzpatrick, Grace Vander Weide and Alana Gilmer all scored 11.
• Other than a discrepancy in shooting percentage, the stats were close, as Marist had a slight advantage in rebounds 34-32, and Canisius gave it away two more times than the Red Foxes (12-10).
• Shooting efficiency proved to be the difference as Marist converted on 40 percent of its shots while Canisius shot 30 percent from the field.
SCOUTING THE GRIFFS
• Sara Hinriksdottir continues to be the team's most productive point producer, as she is averaging 14.0 points per game and 5.5 rebounds per contest.
• Maria Welch is next on the scoring list, posting 8.7 points per game.
• Margret Halfdanardottir is third on the Griffs' scoring list, averaging 8.1 points per contest.
• Canisius is averaging 55.4 points per game and is allowing 64.2
• The team is shooting 35.3 percent from the field, while opponents are limited to 38.0.
• Canisius is averaging 36.4 rebounds per game, while opponents are coming down with 40.7.

• The Hawks come into the contest with a 8-17 record and a 6-8 conference mark.
• Monmouth comes into the contest having won two of the last three, having defeated Niagara and Manhattan in its last two games.Â

SERIES HISTORY VS. MONMOUTH
• Dating back to Feb. 21, 2016 the teams have traded wins as the two sides are locked in a 5-5 tie in the all-time series.Â
• Canisius won the last matchup as the squad bested the Hawks 60-48 in West Long Branch, NJ. on Jan. 20.Â
• Canisius did hold a three-game winning streak earlier in the all-time history.

SANDERLIN STEPPING UP
• Danielle Sanderlin had her best week as a Golden Griffin, last week as she averaged 11 points per game and 6.7 rebounds per contest.
• Aside from the strong averages, in its 3-game finale last week against Marist, she set new career-bests in points with 18, and rebounds with 10, as she recorded her first-career double-double.
• The freshman appears to be hitting her stride as the team looks to her to take on an increased role.Â
• Over her last four games, Sanderlin is averaging 11.25 points per game and 5.25 rebounds per contest.
