BUFFALO, N.Y. – Junior infielder, Jake Lumley was honored by the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference on Tuesday, earning MAAC Player of the Week for his efforts in a five-game stretch last week.

Lumley helped the Griffs to a 4-1 week, as the squad defeated Cornell in both games of a mid-week double header and took two-of-three from Youngstown State.

The Windsor, Ontario native proved to be the offensive leader, finishing the stretch with a .556 batting average, recording 10 hits in 18 at bats. He also notched six RBI, and two runs to aid the Blue and Gold offense.

Lumley was the model of consistency for the Griffs recording at least one hit in all five contests, and recording a week-high three hits against the Big Red on Tuesday.

Over the weekend he also notched a pair of hits in all three contests, as Sunday proved to be his biggest offensive output as he recorded all six of his RBI against the Penguins, with the highlight coming on one swing of the bat, drilling a grand slam to break the game open.

Lumley finished the week with a .591 on base percentage and a .778 slugging percentage to go along with one stolen base.

The Blue and Gold settle in for a busy week as the squad takes on Buffalo on Tuesday, and St. Bonaventure on Wednesday, both games on the road and at 3 p.m. Canisius then gets ready for a showdown for first place, taking on Fairfield with both teams coming in with an 11-4 MAAC record.
