The Canisius indoor track season wraps up this Saturday, March 5 when Chad Maloy and the men's distance medley relay travel to Boston, Mass. for the ECAC IC4A Championships.
Maloy will be running in the 5k event from Boston University, in what will be the final run of his indoor track career beginning at 12:25 p.m.
The graduate student is coming off a second place finish in the 5k at the 2016 MAAC Indoor Track and Field Championships, finishing with a time of 14:26.30. With the finish, Maloy broke his own school record by a three second mark, while also topping the previous MAAC Championship 5k record in the event.
The distance medley relay team of juniors Brennan Root and A.J. Stuver, freshman Josh Sopchak, and senior Cooper Roach, will compete directly after the men's 5k event. The team finished in second place at the MAAC Championship with a time of 10:16.05.
Overall, Maloy holds the fourth best time in the 5k event in the MAAC this season, while the men's DMR has the fifth best time in the MAAC for the year.
