The Canisius College outdoor track team competed in the St. John Fisher Cardinal Classic this afternoon and the Griffs put together multiple strong performances in their last race before the MAAC Championships next weekend.
"Today was an excellent tuneup for the MAAC Championships next weekend," said head coach Nate Huckle. "We had 15 athletes hit personal best times and three were able to claim individual victories as well."
On the men's side of competition, five members of the team finished in the top-10 of the 1500-meter run, headlined by the one-two finish of Travis Jordon and Jeffrey Antolos. Jordon finished with a time of 3:58.68 and Antolos finished in second just behind his teammate with a time of 3:59.63. Rounding out the top-10 for the Blue and Gold were Chad Maloy (4th/4:01.52), Chris Sauvageau (7th/4:03.89) and Galen Snyder (9th/4:05.91).
The women's team saw four athletes finish in the top-10 of the 1500, with Jade Auchmoody being the highest place finisher at third with a time of 4:52.88. Behind Auchmoody, Carlin Sullivan (4th/4:53.56), Jamie Wallace (7th/4:56.70) and Haley Keene (8/4:56.72.) rounded out the top-10.
In the 5000-Meter run, the Golden Griffins recorded a 1-2-3 finish with Macey Walker recording her first collegiate victory, setting a personal best with a time of 18:47.13. Behind Walker was Amanda Paratore (2nd/18:52.87) and Morgan Atkins (3rd/18:57.67).

"The 5K and the 1500-Meter were our focal events for the day and we posted impressive results," said Huckle. "Our runners were confident and aggressive and they will carry this success over into the conference meet. As a team we are ready to chase some ECAC qualifying marks and school records down in New Jersey at the Championships."
The Blue and Gold will compete next weekend at the MAAC Championships in Long Branch, N.J. on May 2 and May 3.
