The Canisius rowing team will host the Black Rock Cup this Saturday at the West Side Rowing club, with the regatta set to begin at 8:00 a.m.
The Griffs will face off against MAAC foe Stetson and also in-town rival D'Youville College. This will be the second regatta of the 2015 spring season for the Griffs, as the team competed in the Knecht Cup last weekend. At the Knecht Cup, the Griffs finished fifth in the Varsity-4 and sixth in both the first and second Varsity-8.
"We're all excited for the Black Rock Cup. We love racing at home at the West Side Rowing Club, in front of our friends and families," said head coach Joel Furtek. "Any time we can race a MAAC opponent one-on-one, we know we have to bring our best race, and Stetson is coming all the way from Florida to bring their best. We look forward to a great event and great racing!"
