Rowing Opens Spring Season at Knecht Cup

The Canisius rowing program opens its 2026 spring season on Saturday and Sunday, April 11-12 at the Knecht Cup on Cooper River in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Canisius will take part in the Knecht Cup for the second consecutive season after a seven season hiatus. Last year, the Varsity 8+ boat posted a sixth-place result in the semifinal heat at 7:48.49, qualifying them for the second petite final where they clocked a 7:02.97 finish, which was good enough for third place.

The Blue and Gold partook in two races this past fall in the Yinzer Cup (Oct. 11) and the Head of the Schuylkill (Oct. 26). Canisius won all three races at the Yinzer Cup, beating a four-team field.
