BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Canisius College women's volleyball team will look for revenge against its crosstown rival on Wednesday night as the squad faces Niagara in a mid-week conference contest. This is the second meeting between the squads this year, as the Griffs dropped the opening matchup in the annual “Battle of the Bridge” series between the Purple Eagles and Blue and Gold.

Wednesday's matchup is a big one for both squads as the MAAC playoff picture begins to come into focus. The Griffs, (8-15 and 6-5 in the MAAC) went a long way in staking claim to a playoff spot, as the squad defeated Iona in five sets on Saturday and swept third-place Manhattan on Sunday to improve to 6-5 in the conference.

Meanwhile Niagara enters the contest with a 5-6-conference record, hunting for a spot at the MAAC championship table. The Purple Eagles defeated the Griffs in three frames on Oct. 10 in Lewiston, N.Y., and a win on Wednesday would pull the squad into a tie for the sixth and final playoff spot, and would give Niagara possession of the tiebreaker, should the two teams finish with the same record.

The contest will be available on livestats as well as broadcast as part of Canisius Athletic Communication's ESPN3 programming schedule. Match begins at 7:04 p.m.
