The Canisius swimming and diving teams are set to host Big 4 rival St. Bonaventure at the Koessler Athletic Center Pool on Saturday, Nov. 15 with the meet set to begin at 9:30 a.m.
The Golden Griffins host the Bonnies after a two-week layoff for the team. The Griffs last competed on Nov. 1st when the Blue and Gold swept the SUNY Geneseo Knights in a dual meet at the team's home pool. Canisius fell against the Bonnies last season in a dual meet in week six of the 2013-14 season.
The men's team will enter the meet behind junior Spencer Bray, senior diver Eddie Quarantillo and freshman Tommy Kirch. Bray enters the contest after winning the 500-yard freestyle two weeks ago with a time of 4:48.37 and a third place in the 200-yard freestyle with a time of 1:47.77. Quarantillo, who was named MAAC Men's Diver of the Week on Nov. 3rd, enters the contest after sweeping his events against Geneseo. The freshman, Kirch, recorded a second place finish in the 50-yard freestyle and a first place finish in 100-yard freestyle.
The women enter behind senior diver Taylor Epstein, freshman Rebecca Anthone and sophomore Marissa Watroba. Epstein swept both of her diving events, the 1-meter and 3-meter against the visiting Knights two weeks and was also named the MAAC Women's Diver of the Week on Nov. 3. Anthone has been phenomenal during her first collegiate year, winning multiple events including the 100-yard freestyle and 1000-yard freestyle against Geneseo. The sophomore Watroba has also been having a solid season as she won the 200-yard IM two weeks ago.
After the dual meet against the Bonnies, the Griffs will host Colgate on Nov. 22nd at the Flickinger Center in Downtown, Buffalo.
