Canisius-Niagara Rivalry Moved to ESPNU Feb. 14

The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference and ESPN announced today that the Canisius-Niagara men's basketball game in the Gallagher Center on Friday, Feb. 14, will be played in front of a live national TV audience on ESPNU. Game time between the Golden Griffins and Purple Eagles is set for 9 p.m. The game in Lewiston, N.Y. will be Canisius' fourth game broadcast live on ESPNU this season.

Canisius defeated Niagara 87-74 in the Koessler Athletic Center when the two teams met for the first time this season on Jan. 22. In that game, Canisius senior Billy Baron scored a game-high 31 points, while senior Chris Perez chipped in 19 points. Senior forward Chris Manhertz had 14 points and 11 rebounds for his 11th career double-double as the Blue and Gold scored back-to-back wins over Niagara for the first time since March 2001.

Canisius will return to action Sunday, Jan. 26, when the team plays host to Marist in the Koessler Athletic Center. Game time is set for 2 p.m.
