2013-14 • SENIOR SEASON
• A 2013-14 AP All-America Honorable Mention, just the fourth player in program history to earn All-America honors.
• Named the 2013-14 Pepsi MAAC Player of the Year.
• Earned All-MAAC First Team honors for the second-straight season.
• Played in 34 games, making 34 starts.
• Led the team and ranked second in the MAAC with 24.1 points per game.
• Is just the third Canisius player to average better than 24.0 points per game for a season.
• Became just the second player in school history to score more than 800 points in a season (821 total).
• Scored a career-high 40 points in a triple-overtime win at Siena Feb. 16.
• Had 10 or more points in a game 33 times, scored 20-plus points 26 times and recorded 30-plus points in a game nine times during his senior year.
• Ended his career at Canisius with 1,405 career points, which ranks 11th all-time in school history.
• Reached the 1,000-career point mark at Canisius in 52 career games, the fifth-fastest player in school history to reach that career scoring milestone.
• Averaged 5.3 assists and 4.9 rebounds per game.
• Is the first Division I men's basketball player since Rodney Stuckey in 2002 to average better than 24.0 points, 5.0 assists and 4.5 rebounds per game for an entire season.
• Led the MAAC with his 5.3 assists per game.
• Is just the third player in school history to have more than 150 assists in back-to-back seasons.
• His 351 assists at Canisius ranks ninth in school history.

• Shot 88.4 percent from the free-throw line for the season, which led the MAAC and ranks second-best in school history.
• Went to the free-throw line 249 times, the third-most free-throw attemtps for a Griff in a single-season.
• Shot 46.4 (247-for-532) from the field. That ranked 14th in the MAAC.
• Pulled down a career-high 10 rebounds at Siena Feb. 16.
• Was credited with a career-high six steals at Notre Dame Dec. 29.
• Played in a school record 55 minutes in the team's triple-overtime win at Siena Feb. 16.
• Ranked second in the nation with his 39.0 minutes per game played.
• Played in a total of 1,325 minutes, the most for a player in school history.
• Served as a team captain for the second-straight year.
• Was named the 2013-14 Canisius Male Athlete of the Year - the highest award presented to a a Canisius athlete by the College's athletic department.

2012-13 • JUNIOR SEASON
• Played in 34 games, making 33 starts.
• Named to the All-MAAC First Team - the first Griff to earn that distinction since Darren Fenn in 1999-00.
• Scored a total of 584 points, the most for a Canisius player in 28 seasons.
• Led the team and ranked third in the MAAC with his 17.2 points per game.
• Scored double-figures 30 times and had 15 or more points in 21 games.
• Became the first Griff since Ray Hall in 1984-85 to score 30-plus points in three different games in the same season.
• Scored a season-high 33 points in the team's win at Niagara Feb. 10.
• Led the MAAC with his 5.0 assists per game, which ranked 62nd nationally.
• Dished out a career-high 11 assists in two different games (at Marist Dec. 9 and at Iona Jan. 13).
• Pulled down 4.1 rebounds per game, which ranked third on the team.
• Pulled down a career-high nine rebounds at Rider Jan. 25.
• Hit a career-high 66 3-point field goals, and his 1.9 3-pointers per game ranked ninth in the MAAC.
• Made a team-high 140 free throws, which ranked fourth in the conference.
• Shot 82.4 percent (140-for-170) from the free-throw line, which ranked fifth in the MAAC and 92nd in the country.
• Was credited with three double-doubles (points and assists), highlighted by his 16-point, 11-assist effort at Marist Dec. 9.
• Averaged 34.8 minutes per game, which ranked first on the team and 10th in the MAAC.
• Was named the Canisius Male Student-Athlete of the Year. |

BEFORE CANISIUS
• In 2011-12, played in 20 games, making 14 starts at Rhode Island.
• Sat out the first semester of the 2011-12 season at Rhode Island following a transfer from the University of Virginia.
• Averaged 13.0 points, 4.4 rebounds and 2.6 assists per game for the Rams in 20 games.
• Scored in double-figures 13 times and had 20-plus points in five different contests for URI.
• Scored 25 points in Rhode Island's road win at Dayton Jan. 28, 2012.
• Started his college career at Virginia in 2010-11, where he played 17 games.
• Prior to playing at Virginia, he averaged 27.5 points and 6.2 assists per game at Worcester Academy during the 2009-10 season.
• Was named first-team All-Class A Prep League selection after the 2009-10 campaign.
• Helped Bishop Hendricken to three-straight Rhode Island state championships.
• As a senior for the Hawks, he averaged 24.1 points, 8.0 rebounds, 6.0 assists and 1.8 steals per game.
• Named the MVP of the Rhode Island state basketball tournament two times.
• Was also named first-team all-state two times as well.
• Nominated as a McDonald's High School All-American. |

• The son of Jim and Cindy Baron.
• His father Jim was named the 23rd head coach in Canisius men's basketball history April 3, 2012.
• Full name is William James Baron.
• Born Dec. 11, 1990 in Altoona, Pa.
• His older brother Jimmy played at Rhode Island from 2005-09 and is currently playing overseas in Italy.
• Is majoring in marketing at Canisius. |
