QUICK HITTERS
- The Canisius College women's basketball team continues non-conference play with Wednesday's road game at Bucknell University.
- Canisius and Bucknell are meeting for the sixth time and for the first time since Nov. 27, 2002, a 100-91 win for the Bison.
- Bucknell is the first of two consecutive Patriot League opponents for the Griffs as Canisius hosts Colgate on Sunday.
- Canisius sophomore Jamie Ruttle leads the team in scoring and is 11th in the conference with a 11.8 points per game average.
- Canisius junior Ashley Wilkes leads the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference in field goal percentage (57.1) after a 5-for-6 performance on Sunday.
- Canisius junior Ashley Durham is sixth in the MAAC in assists per game (4.0) while sophomore Jen Morabito is second in the MAAC and 45th nationally in 3-point field goals made per game (2.8).
- Morabito has made 11 3-pointers through the opening four games of the season, the highest total by a Golden Griffin since Micayla Drysdale had 11 in 2008-09.
- Canisius has held its last three opponents to a 32.5 field goal percentage.
- Terry Zeh is in his eighth year as head coach of the Golden Griffins. Zeh has a 116-104 record in his career, leading Canisius to the 2005 MAAC Championship, including the program's first appearance NCAA Tournament, and to the 2009 WNIT.
- Junior Allison Braun will serve as the team's captain for the 2011-12 season.
- The 2011-12 Golden Griffin roster features zero seniors for the first time since the 2004-05 team. Every other roster in the MAAC features at least two seniors.
SCOUTING THE GRIFFS
- Sophomore Jamie Ruttle, the 2011 MAAC Rookie of the Year leads Canisius in scoring (11.8) and has scored eight or more points in 20 of the last 25 games. Of Ruttle's 19 rebounds, 11 are offensive rebounds.
- Sophomore Jen Morabito, a MAAC All-Rookie Team selection, has made 11 of the team's 19 3-point field goals this season. Morabito has made three or more 3-pointers in three of four games.
- Junior Allison Braun, the team's captain for the 2011-12 season, is tied for the team lead in rebounding (4.8). Braun tied her career high with seven rebounds at Maryland Eastern Shore on Nov. 21.
- Junior Ashley Durham has 16 assists in the opening four games and is sixth in the MAAC in assists per game (4.0). Durham led the team with seven rebounds against Eastern Michigan and has at least four rebounds in 15 of the last 22 games.
- Junior Melissa Gardner has started the last six games (two MAAC Championship games and opening four games this season) and had a career-high three assists against Towson.
- Sophomore Jen Lennox has scored six or more points in 11 of the last 14 games, including each of the last seven games. The 6-foot-3 forward has a block in 19 career games and matched a career high with 26 minutes played against UMES.
- Sophomore Courtney VandeBovenkamp returned to the lineup on Sunday after missing the first three games of the season due to injury. VandeBovenkamp had five or more rebounds in 15 games as a freshman.
- Junior Ashley Wilkes has at least five rebounds in three of the team's games this season and has recorded at least one steal in each game. Wilkes is averaging 12.5 points per game at home.
- Freshman Kayla Hoohuli is averaging 23.3 minutes off the bench for the Griffs while fellow freshman Brooke Angelos is averaging 7.8 minutes.
BUCKNELL SCOUT
- Bucknell enters Wednesday's game with a 1-6 record. The Bison have dropped their last six after winning their opener.
- Bucknell is playing its fourth MAAC opponent of the season. Bucknell defeated Saint Peter's (46-35), lost to RIder (63-43) and Niagara (61-55).
- Freshman Amy Zehner leads the team with a 13.6 points per game average. Zehner has not appeared in the last two games for Bucknell.
- Five Bucknell players are averaging more than 26 minutes per game, led by Shelby Romine who is averaging 39.6 minutes per contest.
- Bucknell is shooting 9.8 percent (5-for-51) on 3-pointers this season and 44.8 percent inside the arc.
- Lindsay Horbatuck is averaging a team-high 7.7 rebounds per game.
- Bucknell is averaging 51.7 points per game and allowing 57.6 points per game. The Bison have a +5.9 rebounding margin and have an offensive rebounding percentage of 40.0. The Bison also have a -7.0 turnover margin.
- Kathy Fedorjaka is in her 15th season at Bucknell and has a 208-202 record during her time in Lewisburg. Fedorjaka is a 1990 graduate of Fairfield University.
SERIES HISTORY VS. BUCKNELL
- Canisius and Bucknell are meeting for the sixth time and for the first time since Nov. 27, 2002.
- The Bison hold a 3-2 lead in the all-time series, having won two of the previous three meetings in Lewisburg, Pa.
- Bucknell defeated Canisius 100-91 in the last meeting between the teams, while the last Canisius win in the series came in a 100-89 win on Dec. 11, 2001, in the Koessler Athletic Center.
- The only Canisius win in the three previous games at Bucknell came on Feb. 11, 1991, in a 74-70 victory.
