Due to further
complications from the winter weather, the 2010 MAAC Men and Women's Swimming
& Diving Championships have been rescheduled for Thursday, Feb. 18 through
Saturday, Feb 20. The championships will follow the original schedule.
Loyola
University, the host school for the championship events, has decided to close its campus until Feb. 15, requiring that the
championships be rescheduled. The decision was based on a number of factors,
with an emphasis on safety concerns for the 1,000-plus student-athletes,
coaches, and spectators planning on travelling to the event.
"The unprecedented
snow and emergency conditions have resulted in the rescheduling of the
championships for a second time in order to maintain the safety of the
student-athletes, coaches, staffs, officials, and fans," MAAC Commissioner
Richard J. Ensor said.
Tickets for the
championships will be honored on the corresponding new dates. A revised
webstreaming schedule will be released by the MAAC office as soon as it can be determined.
