Sophomore
Erica Vitale and freshman Matt Moessinger were both double-event winners as the
Golden Griffins competed against Boston College Sunday afternoon.
On the women's side, Vitale earned wins in the 200 backstroke (2:11.56) and 200 IM
events, while freshman Megan O'Shei finished second in the 100 (1:13.71) and 200
breaststroke events, posting a personal best in the 200. Diver sophomore Amina
Benman recorded a personal best in the one meter dive (190.09).
For
the men, Moessinger took first in the 1000 freestyle and 200 IM (2:05.34) events, posting times of 10:06.90 in the 1000, while
Kevin Ernst posted top times (2:05.40) in the 200 butterfly and Steve Pochatko finished
first in the 100 backstroke with a time of 53.32. Randall Snodgrass earned a second place finish in the 200 free, earning a personal best time of 1:47.32. Freshman
Mike Disco and Tyler Carver took first and second in the 100 breaststroke, earning times of 1:04.07 and 1:04.28, respectively.
"It was a great meet against Boston College," said head coach Scott
Vanderzell. "The Griffs came ready to swim, and we had a great showing."
The Blue and Gold will swim next at Shippensburg on Oct. 29. Meet time is set to begin at 5 p.m.
